Almost there ...

The big day is almost upon us, and while we slowly dry out and warm the course for tomorrow (thanks, Sun!), there’s a couple of final notes we’d like to share with you.

Help make registration easy for you, and for us by:

1. Registering tonight – if you can at all do so. Competitors living in Laois and surrounding counties, or people staying locally tonight, we’d really appreciate if you could pop into us before 9pm. It takes lots of pressure off race day morning for us, and for you.

2. Licencing. Please do not arrive in registration without either a valid TI card for 2010 (with photo inserted), OR an e-mail printout with details of a pre-purchased One Day Licence.

Your understanding is appreciated - It is TI’s policy that entrants who cannot fulfil the above criteria must not be allowed race. We don’t have any choice or discretion – unfortunately you will be going home without racing.

Finally, we are still available to help you with any query. Please e-mail karl@trilogy.ie if we can help.

No Race Insurance, No Race!

As prevously advised to all competitors, all competitors at Portlaoise Tryathlon must be either annual or one-day members of Triathlon Ireland. This an insurance requirement for the race to go ahead.

Entrants must buy in advance and from www.triathlonireland.com either an annual or a one-day racing licence.

At registration, you will be asked to evidence your membership in the form of a 2010 Racing Licence (Photo attached) or in the form of a printed e-mail from Triathlon Ireland with details of a one day licence you purchased for the event.

Trilogy will not be able to sell licences on race-day, and can not allow any unlicenced competitor take part. Regrettably, if you cannot evidence your annual or one day licence when you sign in for the race, you will not be able to participate on the day.

Fifty Filled

Fifty Filled

Last night Portlaoise Try-athlon filled its fiftieth place and is now 25% full. We expect the race to sell out in early February, so the advice is to register early. If you are trying to work someone round to doing their first triathlon in 2010 - something we approve of! - then please remind them of this.

Best of luck with the training.
